Winner: France

It is over and the French are the winners of the 2018 World Cup. Arguably the greatest World Cup ever, definitely the best of the modern, France defeated Croatia 4-2 in the final and made manager Didier Deschamps only the third person to have won the trophy both as a player and a manager. However, were the French deserved winners?

Now I know there are some out there who would argue that Croatia had more of the ball yesterday but anyone who watched the game could see that the French were the more dangerous side. Between Kylian Mbappe and Antoine Griezmann, they had two players in attack that could outpace any defender in the Croatian team and with N’Golo Kante and Paul Pogba, they had a defensive block in midfield that made going down the center of the park almost impossible for Croatia. On many occasions yesterday, Croatian captain Luka Modric (who was the Golden Ball winner for being best player at the tournament) had to drop deep to pick up the ball. The Croatian tried hard but despite French goalkeeper Hugo Lloris’ best efforts to give them a lift, it just wasn’t enough and I thought France deserved to win the game yesterday.

Some people would argue that they weren’t the best team in the World Cup and I won’t argue with that. For me, Belgium was the best and most exciting team in Russia but the French had a good defense, a strong midfield, and a deadly attack. So were the French deserved winners? In a word, Yes!

Cover and Small Update

Hi everyone,

It’s been awhile so I thought I give a little update on the book. As everyone could see, I got the cover page and decided on the title of ‘Fantasy Expands’. I know the cover is very different from the cover of ‘Fantasy Begins’ and while that made me hesitate, I finally decided to pull the trigger and bought the cover on selfpubbookcover.com. At the same time, I finished the rewrite of the book and it’s currently with a freelance editor from scribendi.com. It probably be two weeks before it’s done so in the meantime I would advise anyone still reading the series on RRL to finish up quickly.

Yes, I’m going to take the book off RRL. Once the editing is done, I’m going to delete the pages, put up the first two chapters of the book and moved the book to the ‘Completed’ section of RRL. The reason are mainly twofold. First; most authors on RRL who publish does it (for obvious reasons) so why not me? Secondly; the last third of the book has been changed and I do not want to have two versions of the page out there. When doing the rewrite, I discovered I basically wrote the same battle twice via two different POV. In the rewrite, I try to correct this issue and also add in some other differences. There is a new Boss in the book and a (hopefully enjoyable) battle no one had read before.

Thanks

Update- Book 2 of The Dungeon Hive Trilogy

Hi everyone, Happy Chinese New Year!

It’s been awhile since I updated his blog and I just wish to take this time to inform you on Book 2 of The Dungeon Hive Trilogy. Basically, I’ve finished the first draft of Book 2. This should not come as a surprise to anyone following my work on RRL (Royal Road Legends), but I have to inform everyone that the finished work would be different from what’s on RRL now. I’m pleased to say that I had finished rewriting the prologue of Book 2 and am now slowly going through the rest of the book. I intend to rewrite the ending, specifically the final fight, as well add some fluff and more jokes to the book. Good news is that I know what I want to do. Bad news is that I haven’t done it. With Fantasy Begins, I had found that editing (and finding typos) is not my strong suit so I intend to take my time with the rewrite this time before sending it to a professional editor. I believe there should be no problem with publishing Book 2 before the end of the year but I do not want to lock myself to a time frame beyond that. Till then, please continue to enjoy ‘Fantasy Begins: Book 1 of the Dungeon Hive Trilogy’.

Thanks!

Going Wide

Hi everyone!

'Fantasy Begins'- Book 1 of The Dungeon Hive Trilogy is now available on iBooks, Smashwords, Barnes & Noble, and Kobo. Unfortunately I’m unable to put the book on Goggle Playstore yet as they are not accepting any new submission currently (not sure why). I’m not really sure how much sales I could get on these sites but I figured the more the merrier right. Please take a look if you wish. Thanks!
